Terrain generator not working

Hi Flavia,

Opentopography (from where "Terrain Generator" component takes the terrain data) yesterday updated their way of accessing terrain data.

Until a new version of "Terrain generator" component is released, copy paste the one attached below (into your .gh file).

Thank you for founding out this problem!

I don't understand this file that you sent. It is a format that I don't recognize

 Could you tell me where do I have to paste that file?

Hi Flavia,
Sometimes when you download the file from this forum, it is not downloaded in its original filename and extension, but as "main_".

1) To fix this, open your windows "File Explorer", and in the "View" tab, check if "File name extensions" options is checked. If it is not, then check it:

2) rename your main_ file as TerrainGenerator v20200827.gh.

3) Open that TerrainGenerator v20200827.gh file as any other grasshopper file.

I got the same problem and thanks to the URL that was added onto the error and this great post I got this fixed under a minute..

Glad it worked for you!
Maybe you can also download the "Terrain Generator" component from here:
https://github.com/stgeorges/gismo/raw/master/userObjects/Gismo_Ter...

And drag-and-drop it to your grasshopper canvas. This will make sure that whenever you drag the "Terrain Generator" component from the Grasshopper tabs, the new updated version is used.
