algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I keep getting an error that says "The User Objects could not be created as the base type is missing."
All my .ghuser files are in the right place, and I've also installed the necessary components. Does anyone know how to fix this? (see picture 1)
My thought is to create the buildings of the city in 3D, so I dont have to use a day or three doing this, ehe. I have their heights and shapes implemented from Qgis, but there is a lot of lines, which would make this rather timely. (see picture 2)

Hi Håkon,
This issue has already appeared with plugins which use ghpython components as well, as Ladybug.
The issue is either:
1) There is no ghpython.gha file located in the "File->Special Folders->Components Folder" folder.
In that case download it from food4rhino.
OR
2) There is, but it has been blocked.
In that case:
Right click on the ghpython.gha file, and choose "Properties". If there is an "Unblock" button click on it, and then click on "OK". If there is no "Unblock" button, just click on "OK".
After completion of either of these two steps, close Rhino and Grasshopper, and run them again.
Let us know if worked.
On creation of buildings: Gismo will generate 3d buildings by extracting the height or number of stories data from .osm file.
The user itself does not need to do this manually.
Yeah, this works, thank you!
I have the .osm file from where I want to create the buildings, but Im still pretty fresh at Grasshopper, so well see if I can figure it out. heh
Actually, it didnt work. I still get the same error?
I noticed the file I had was called ghpython2.gha and not ghpython.gha. Tried renaming it and still the same results.
I also unblocked it, and I also unblocked every single one of Gismos .ghuser files. I can use more of the different components know, but still some of them are not working.
But the 3D-building one is working now. How do I link a .osm file to that one?
Sorry for all the stupid questions...
Hi vildand,
If any of the .ghuser files have been blocked, than that means that the .zip file containing them has not been unblocked initially. Check the step "iii" in the installation instructions.
Make sure that once all of your .ghuser files are unblocked, you restart Rhino.
You can not "load" an osm file into Gismo.
Gismo is meant to be used by automatically extracting data from .osm file by just defining the location and radius. And that is it. No manual download of the .osm file is needed.
You just need to download an example file from here, and change the location and radius to those that you need.
Please let us know if you have any more questions, or if this reply was not clear!
Welcome to
Grasshopper
