algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

I have some questions about the "large deformation" component. I don't understand the relationship between the applied force, the increment and the deformation:

for example, if I apply a point load of 1 kN and set the Increments value to 250 does it mean that in complex I apply 250 kN or that in each iteration karamba applies 0.004 kN (=1 kN/250)?

I am working on a shell structure, I attach the definition of the work I am trying to develop.

Best,

Davide.

Hi Davide,

in case you do not specify 'MaxDisp' then 0.004 kN are added in each step. If however 'MaxDisp' is given then the load will be increased until a component of the displacement vector of a node reaches the predefined maximum.

Best,

Clemens

Hi Clemens,

thanks for the explanation, now it is all clear.

Best,

Davide.
