Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask for help in creating an expression. The equation that I'm trying to solve is:

However, when I input the expression into the expression component in grasshopper, there is an error.

Do anyone have any suggestion regarding this problem? Thank you. I would appreciate the help.

Hi Joseph,

Thank you very much for your help. If I may ask, is it also possible to create an integration expression in the expression component?

I don't know what you mean?  Integral calculus?  That might require iteration (Anemone loop)?

Hi Joseph,

Yes, integral calculus. I see, thank you very much for your help. I really appreciate it.

The expression language doesn't understand anything about calculus, it just performs the steps in the correct order. If you want integrals or derivatives, you'll either have to write them as separate expressions, or approximate them by sampling an expression and interpreting the results.

Hi David,

I see, then is it possible to script integration in grasshopper python?

Probably, don't know much about python, but I imagine there's some libraries out there that allow you to enter an expression and get the integrals.

Hi David,

Thank you very much for your help. It's really helpful.
