Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello, Im new in Grasshopper, and I have a 3D model of an auditorium that I would like to replicate in Grasshopper. The problem is I dont know how to make the steps for the auditorium, I ve managed to loft some of them. What I expect is on the first attachement and what I managed on the second.

Thank you!

If you really want straight, angled steps as in your first image, you're starting with the wrong inputs for 'TweenCrv'.  This is a "cleaned up" version of your model:

Thank you Joseph! That was very helpful, however is it possible to change it instead of a half elipse, a quarter of elipse like the attachement below? I ve been trying to do the same, but it wouldnt work.

Thank very much! this definition was very useful to what I am trying to achieve! However, I was wondering if the stairs could expand on that quarter to the right (as the maximum). (maybe with the attachement below the idea is better explained)

Just move the sliders!  Anywhere you want.  QAGH_2017Sep1b.gh

And you can easily disable the "bleachers" feature in the last version:

QAGH_2017Sep1c.gh

Thank you, I ve been moving the sliders, but the maximum number that the slider allows me to "go right" on the ellipse is 0.005, until it goes to 0.000 and changes the disposition.

Oh, that.  It's the 'List Item' between the yellow and blue colors...

OK, I added a switch for that, in the yellow group.  You could have gotten the same shape section 180 degrees away, avoiding the seam.

And I added two more switches:

  1. 'ellipse src': "Ellipses" grp or "guide crvs" (your own)
  2. 'bleachers': "On" of "Off"

Thank you very much!! That was very helpful!

Two more features:

  1. parametric control of the two ellipses.
  2. bleachers!

Up to fourteen user-specified parameters.

Thank you very much! I´ve changed the definition to create a rotated elipse, but the previous auditorium definition worked for a plan elipse. I was wondering if it could be adaptable to the rotated elipse as well? I ve been trying to change the previous definition but had trouble.

Thank you!
