algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am trying to set my object normal to a curve created in Rhino. I have my planes set normal to the curve but for some reason when I plug it into the final geometries it isn't doing anything. I have attached the GH script and the Rhino file just to have the curve that I am lofting and evaluating. Thanks

Hi Natalie,

You don't need to plug in a Z Vector parameter into the Move component.

If you would like to set a distance from which the component is placed away from the surface, you could use the vector Amplitude component: feed the normals into V, and set the A with a slider or whatever the desired value, and feed this into the Move that determines the locations of the Points where the new components might be placed ...

Now, to place the GH drawn component, one at every point from the above process, you could create a Plane Normal from these points and the normals, and then use the Orient component.  This should place your geometry along the surface, in a direction normal to the surface at the points specified.

I got rid of the original move components, that was just to make more along the surface, which I can do but increasing my divide. I followed the rest of what you said and its coming up with something funky. I created the Plane Normal, but in the Orient component what would my reference plane be, maybe I possibly have the wrong target plane. When I am plugging in the Plane Normal it has a ridiculous out put. Thanks for your time.

Natalie
