Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

just downloaded the current build onto a computer at school.

when editing expressions WITHIN component (for example: changing the i in a list item to i-1 for returning the last item using a list length count) the component turns red and i get an error.

"1. Expression generated an error: Unknown variable encountered: i"

it still WORKS and gives me the correct data...but thought i should mention it. i tried on several component types, and the error seems universal when editing expressions within components.

thanks.

i should add: when editing in the "series" component the component does NOT return the value that would reflect the expression.

well...after fussing around i tried just typing in the expression as an "x + 1" and it seems to work. didn't we used to type in the input letter? or did i just have a mild stroke and forget how to use this thing?

short answer: resolved.

thanks for posting, I had the same issue

Giorgio

It was changed in the last release (see the release notes). Old files will be automatically fixed when opened, but when typing new expressions you have to use 'x'.

Also if you open the Expression editor you'll see that 'x' is the only available variable.
