I am trying to distribute a shape onto a surface and then to scale the shapes according to a black and white image that I have.

The idea is that i perforate a surface as shown on the image I am attaching.

I am trying to use surface division and then graph mapper but since I am rather fresh in Grasshopper it is not exactly what I am trying to achieve.

Can anyone help.

Sending GH file and 3DM as well.

Hi.

It's not "graph mapper". What you mean is "Image Sampler", Right?

And attached is an example of using "Copy Trim".

Yes you are right.

I said that I am fresh in GH :)

Thanks very very much for this clarification.

How I can use different shape than  circle?

Where do I insert it?

I think you should look at and learn paneling tools. It is used for exactly what you describe. You dont even need Grasshopper for it, also works in Rhino for something simple like you describe. Of course you can also do it in Grasshopper with the Paneling Tools components.

There is some really good tutorials on vimeo on demand. If you watch those, you will have no problem creating what you are after and so much more.
