Rotating two components independently

Hello,

 

I am very new to this program and I have been attempting to make different component units rotate independently from one another.  Is there a way I can copy the base unit and have the copied object function using it's own slider?

Wow, thanks Chris, I actually figured it out eventually, but your script looks way less complicated than mine!  I'm not too sure what some of the script you posted is but I'll play with it tomorrow.  Thanks again!
