algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello again,
I could use you guys' help again with a seemingly simple problem, I have a bunch of points on a non planar (brep?) surface and want to make my geometry orient to it so that it is pointing out from the surface point.
I though this would be simple for me to figure out as a newbie but alas I have come here for your help again. (I haven't done tutorials yet..just jumped in)
I've looked aimlessly online for some solution, and have attempted many, but to no avail.
Thanks again forum members, I truly appreciate it, once I get well enough versed I plan on returning the favor!
FYI (the triangular geometry is located at the cplane origin)

Yes, thank you Hyungsoo,
But I cannot read the image you included. Can you include a better screen grab or the Grasshopper file?
Thanks again,
Cliff
Hello, Cliff.
Check attachment.
And if you are using my solution, is it at least a minimum etiquette to response to the "previous posting"? Right?
Best.
Sorry will do next time, figured new question, new discussion.
Thanks again.
Finally got to take a look at what you did, just wanted to say thanks so much! I'm very impressed and hope to learn what you know.
Thanks again,
Cliff
Hey Hyungsoo,
I'm trying to swap out the test geometry with the final geometry and I'm having some issues that I'm hoping you could help me with.
When I replace the triangular geometry with my a new unit, it arrays it in pieces, not the all the geometries together.. Not sure what I'm doing wrong..any help appreciated.
Thanks, Cliff
Also, its not as much a big deal, but I was wondering how/if I can reduce the height ratio as the arches travel along the curve (I would like to have more arches above the water without cutting too much of the bridge itself).
Hi. Cliff.
Check attachment especially red groups.
And it would be the last time to help you for this case bacause I am not a substitute for your work.
You are better off using Rhino's "Block" features for your repetitive unit parts to reduce the computational burden on your machine.
And I didn't notice that this is a residential project.
It seems that I will not live in the lowest floor because I don't want my house to be submerged.
Thank you! They are upside down but can fix that haha (also think they look better that way though, might have to change some things..). I will be deleting the pods close to the water. (also there is minimal tide levels in this location)
Thanks again for all your help, you really saved me, I tend to take on new software for big projects to push myself and learn new things but it usually bites me in the ass. Thanks to this forum and you I have a project to show!
I will continue to learn grasshopper and understand the help you put into my project, thanks again.
Cliff
