Troubleshoot Curve Array with Distance Based Scaling

Hey, newbie here, appreciate any help,

I'm trying to figure out why my Curve Array is so far away from my Curve and seemingly random in placement.

Once I can get the extruded catenary arcs spaced along the curve I would like to scale them from smaller to larger, but cant get past the first step. (help with scaling also appreciated) 

Maybe my catenary shapes have a funky axis and is messing it up?
