algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello Everyone.

Is there the chance to export a file with a list of all the components used/present in a definition and how often they have been used? I would need it for educational purposes.

eg.

point:4 components

move: 6 components

y vector: 2 components

scale: 1 component

...

and so on

Thanks

I just saved it as a User Object and I like to give them an icon and a proper description, especially if they are scripted components, so they dont all have the same icon. You just select any component and go to File > Save User Object. Then you can enter a description and name and choose an icon, by clicking on the middle icon on the right in the bottom part of the box. Hope that helps (sorry on a different computer, so no screenshot).

Side note: You can also drag and drop an image file straight onto any component on the canvas to add a new icon to it by the way.

Really. Doesn't seem to work for me. When I drag an image on to a component it just places an image sampler. But that is also pretty neat.

Also about the Component Counter thingy: Could you add an update pin? Have to disable and enable it for it to update.

Hmm, that's weird. Could it be an image format issue maybe? I believe they must be a certain pixel X pixel size and file type, I forget which though!

The easiest solution might be to simply add an input parameter and wire it up to a Button component (or anything really that is downstream in your definition). I suppose it should be possible to also trigger the component to expire based on listening to events in the GH document, but that's not really something I've fiddled with I'm afraid.
