Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,

I'm working on a file that exhibits a weird display problem. Points created are not displayed in their actual positions, moreover, they move around according to camera zoom and rotation. If the camera is approaching, the points fly towards and past the camera.

I tried to capture this in the screenhots attached. From the left to the right the camera is orbiting and approaching, and the points are moving away from their actual position.

Notes:

  • the points should display exactly over the lines;
  • only affects GH geometry, once baked the points display correctly;
  • the issue relates to points passing through a Cull Pattern component.

Is there anything to be done?

All the best.

Ok, I noticed it is due to not collecting the points into a Point component, which I normally do, so I was taken by surprise.

There are some issues with the new Rhino6 display engine, certain point styles and z-bumping. Some combination of these will display points with an incorrect offset.

If you're seeing this more often, try disabling z-bumping from the rightmost button on the canvas toolbar, or switching to X style point display.

Hi David,

It is, indeed, a bump preview issue. Thanks.

All the best.
