algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Error 1. 19 cross sections need to be bigger than their biggest family member.

Hi People,

I have a new problem with my grasshopper OpticCrossSec Component. It says the following error:

1. 19 cross sections need to be bigger than their biggest family member.

I have exploded the lines so the lines(beams) between the trusses will be connected to the other trusses, but now i have an error. It worked with the beams and the end points but not the beams between the trusses. What can i do to fix this?

I attach my file so you can see it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Giorgio,

as I just replied in another forum, the same error is occuring. You have some overlapping beam elements (the split ones and the original one). When you look at the displacement you can see that the long element displaces alot due to it connected at the nodes. Please refine your definition and this should fix your error.

best,

Matthew

Thanks Matthew! I have an other question though. I want to get partition items from a list, but it has to be the list -6 item indexes from the bottom. So example there are 42 list items now but i just want the 42-6= 36 items from the list to use. How can i define that? The list can change everytime if the paramters changes to, so it cant be a static int.

Thanks in advance,

Giorgio
