Attractor Point on Existing Plane (frit-like pattern on external screen) Question

Hi All -

I'm trying to map an external metal screen with a simple attractor script.  I can get the script to work on a horizontal plane, but I can't seem to get it to flip and behave so that it will align to my vertical window plane.  

Another question I had is: is it possible to map a point grid on something that isn't a rectangle or square?  For example, can you map an evenly spread grid across an L-shape?

Thank you very much for looking and/or any insight you may have.
