algorithmic modeling for Rhino

North in Elk

Hi all,

I am new to Elk. I was just wondering if I import a location osm file into grasshopper, can I assume that the north is always pointing positive y direction? Or there's a way to extract the north vector or find a way to get the north vector.

Timothy (Elk's author) will definitively give a more precise and better answer than I will.
But from my humble knowledge: GIS data is in general oriented to the True North direction. So you are correct about it being the positive Y axis direction.
