algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi guys,
I have been stopped by the rotation constraint for whole day and still not yet able to figure out how to set out the limitation angle for the facade plate. Please if anyone can indicate me the solution. Many thanks
Attached please see the sketches and files.
So basically I have 1. arrayed the diamond plate in a rectangle and add a 4. curve attractor to achieve a dynamic result when I change the number slider.
The problem I am currently encountering is the 2. rotation constraint. I would only like to allow back and forth rotation for each plate not larger than let say 30 degree angle perhaps. (will be amendable later on)
And the plate will not rotate at 360 degree itself when changing the attractor parametric value.
So when the parametric value changing, the plate will only respond within its rotation constraint.

thanks Kim for the indication
have opened the script and tried to draw the two attractor curve as shown in your image above, but not able to achieve as same as your image.
I have also tried to adapt the script into my working file, but seems when i change the rotation angle limit content, the plate keep rotating its axis itself without angle constraint.
basically I would like to achieve a facade taking Ned Kahn as a example as shown below.
Many thanks
Thanks Kim for the solution
have tired your suggestion to increased the value in influence range >6 in my working file as attached.
But seems still not able to achieve same as yours. Is my curve not setting up correctly?
Thanks for the image sampler suggestion, I have applied before but I wasnt not able to tackle rotation limit issue, it is now more clear for me. thanks for that
However for the image sampler, I can not able to make an instant animated effect by changing value slider, thats why I hvt develop it. I have attached a gif for my previous attempt.
wondering if I would like to achieve an animated effect based on the image sampler, if thats possible?
I was trying to use natural wind force by kangaroo, learning from

but not successful unfortunately.
Many thanks, much appreicated
Oh I got it, its the minimum distance between attractor curve, thanks for this advise.
wondering is the wind simulator not workable in this task?
cheers
