Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Dear friends,

I am new in Octopus. I followed the instruction to install it and then use it.

first: when I set up an optimization problem and try to run Octopus, it does not open its editor and does not work.

second: when I close the Grasshopper file and open it again, I get an error message (attached file) and after that, the Octopus component has been removed from the script.

I would appreciate it if somebody could help me to solve the problem.

Thanks in advance,

Saeed

Hi Saeed,

In the grasshopper component folder make sure the files for octopus are unblocked.

Click right and tick unblock.

Close rhino and gh and reopen.

Hi Oliver,

Thank you very much for your consideration and respond.

I did it and it is working now!

Hello

Just a simple note.

Make sure unblocking every grasshopper plug-ins after downloading, whether its zip or normal files, is very important and I have encountered this issue too.

Good luck.

Hi Amaraa,

Thanks for your comment and advice.

Best,

Saeed

Hi Iris,

On my experiences so far, just when the file is blocked you will see the "unblock" option in the properties window. When the file is not blocked, probably you have something like the attachment "00".

But anyways, just in case I tried to show the procedure of unblocking the file by attachments "01" to "03".

I hope it helps you to solve your problem.

Good luck,

Saeed
