algorithmic modeling for Rhino

any suggetions to improve Rhino+GH performance in Windows install via VMWare in Mac OSX?

the Rhino+GH running in Windows 8 Pro installed via VMWare Fusion 8.5 in Mac OS X sometimes experiences serious lagging and low frame rate (below 20), considering that I've assigned 10GB RAM and 4 cores for the virtual machine ...

I understand that I shall not expect the same smooth and high performance as in a native Windows system.

Nevertheless, can you share some advice on how to improve the performance of Rhino+GH installed in virtual machine if you have the experience?

Thank you very much!

I'm not a fan of win 8 or 10. or OXS :(

1. Read the entire MSLA Microsoft Software License Agreement. Do you fully understand what MS will use your computer for.....namely to gather information about you, from your computer.
2. When making a Portable, Remember a total install of VM + Rhino may well require 10GB of HDD space.
3. https://www.grc.com/never10.htm

Finally: why don't you install BootCamp on your iMac and boot Win 7, then do a Rhino install and see how things are working speed wise. before you try the VM route.

Thanks, Kim!

So, increase the sources in CPU and RAM for VM are the only way to boost its performance?

I do have windows 8 installed via bootcamp.

Only a few CAD and simulation software need to be installed in windows system for my work. So, that's why I want to find a way to use them in Mac OS X efficiently.

Anyway, maybe virtual machine will never achieve similar efficiency for those software installed in native windows system.

Thanks, again!
