algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Dear David and hoppers,
Can I suggest to replace the the "Save" button with "Save as", or at least add an additional "Save as" button besides it?
Some of us have the habit to save the working in progress project file frequently with an incremental serial number in the file name so that we can always trace back some of the early versions of the project file if the current one is corrupted for certain reasons.
So, using "Save as" will prompt the user to intentionally save a new file without overwrite the current working file with new revisions.

How about a configurable radial menu?
Would be cool to automate the whole process so you don't need to edit the filename yourself.
I'm using autohotkey to print the date in this format 16_09_19_
Add time or a running number.
Filename+date+time or increment.
This would be great to have in a radial menu
There's Ctrl+Alt+S which saves the current file including date and time stamp in the current folder. Does that feature need to be improved?
No, I wasn't aware of that feature :-)
Still, how about a configurable radial menu?

It's right there in the menu below Save and Save As :)
Still, how about a configurable radial menu?
I considered it when I designed the current one, but ultimately decided against it because it seemed too much work and too isolated a usage case. It's something I'll be happy to reconsider for GH2 though.
Thanks!
Thanks, David! This time stamp feature is great.
May I suggest one thing: adjust the time stamp format to yyyy-mm-dd_hh-mm
This is to work with the file name sorting function in explorer so that the latest file is always shown on the top or the bottom of the file list (I do understand that sorting by modification time can also do the trick...)
Thank you!
Yeah I suppose that makes more sense. Problem is that you can still save more often than once a minute, so I'll need an additional marker in case that happens.
