algorithmic modeling for Rhino

G'day!

Just wondering if anyone could suggest how to suss out the Planar Remeshing tool by Ramboll Computational Design (http://www.grasshopper3d.com/profiles/blogs/planar-remeshing) to reverse engineer ICD/ITKE/IIGS 's project at Landesgartenschau.

I think the tool is made to work with Starling and Weaverbird using Lloyd's clustering algorithm and can produce positively and negatively curved surfaces, both of which this design seems to incorporate.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to apply a combination of these positively and negatively curved surfaces to the lofted shell of the building?

I haven't used kangaroo before though, is this just using the planarize goal? Does this require lunchbox to produce the cell shapes?

Then, have a try with Kangaroo(As you said, Lunchbox is also necessary.)

Is the planarity process possible if we constraints the hexagons points on the surface?

I mean can we still get planar cell if the corners can only move around the surface?

even if you have to cull some or reduce the cells counts

Of course you can add another constraint like "OnMesh" goal, and the expected result is more close to original shape, less deviation,

But the actual simulation behavior was different from expectation. It takes more time to finish(or never finished), some panels will be distorted more...

exactly, it never ends if we didn't find another method, which can change sizes and move the points further, I will add a thread for this, Thank you for your reply
