Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Is it possible to find a file/files ( within a large number of GH files in a folder) with specific components? for example, I am looking for the files stored in my folder with Voronoi components or plugin components. I don't want to open the files one by one to find my desired one.

another wish

Also, i wish if the GH file can save a thumbnail representing it outputs when saved, just like 3dm files.

Technically it would be possible to parse the files programmatically and find the IDs of objects used in it, or even just open them all programmatically (without trying to solve them) and inspect them that way. The latter would be easier to program but slower to execute. Either way it'll require some serious coding.

As for the thumbnail wish, what do you mean by 'outputs'? The viewport? Do you want to save the thumbail as a separate image file?

Hi David,

For the first issue, i prefer not to open it, something in windows to be able quickly find things. especially if it doesn't have names on it.

the second issue, I mean the moment i press save for the grasshopper file, i wish if windows/grasshopper keep a copy of the current perspective viewport as thumbnail and be the image of the GH file, it will help a lot to find files as well.
