Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello community

I recently found this great page: http://soliton.vm.bytemark.co.uk/pub/cpt-city/views/totp-ggr.html

And I was wondering in what file type do I need to download the gradients and how to install them for use in grasshopper. Is it possible or do I need to create each of these manually?

Thanks

Shynn

Hi.

You can use "Image Sampler" as custom gradient.

Try download a gradient image which you wish to apply and bring it into image sampler.

Alright! Thanks Hyungsoo!

Hi Shynn,

Grasshopper does not allow you to load gradients from files (this has been requested before though and I'll make sure it's possible in GH2), so you'll have to manually recreate them. Once you have a gradient though you can add it to the default via the Gradient object menu.

Metahopper can be used to instantiate true GH Gradient objects from a list of colors. You can use an image sampler to get those colors and then format them for metahopper's "Set Object Value" component. Right now it won't handle "hard stops" the way the native editor does, but it gets you pretty close.  Just set the toggle to "True" to automatically place a bunch of gradient objects and then set their colors per the image.
