Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,

after some trouble i've set up something to replicate a pattern on a surface... but it's not good, i'd like to make a seamless pattern from my geometry, how could I achieve that?

Thanks in advance

rather than having two separated layers, why not connect the upper one with the lower one

and then create polysurfaces and colors

or connect 4 horizontal neighbours of panels with a little of variation

does that help ?

I don't get upset for two detached layer, I was just making a test, I can't figure out how to make the lower patteren seamless...

Hi.

In my opinion, The problem is your unit geometry.

If you want to get a seamless pattern, then your unit geo's 4 sides should be consistent when it is distributed on your target surfaces.

Using your geometries as meshes, you can make one of famous "Erwin Hauer" pattern.

Check attached def. You'll know what I mean.

You'll need "Jackalope", "Weaver Bird" and "meshedit" plug-ins.
