Hi Chara, if I understand you correctly, here's a way using Map to Surface. Also, your source grid looked like it was meant to be planar, but actually wasn't, so to simplify matters I made it so.

Thanks :-)  is there any way to use the curves as the final edge/perimeter  of the deformation?  (something like the flow along curve command in rhino...)

I have a feeling this is more like what you're looking for. I replaced the loft with a sweep2.
