algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi guys,
I am attempting to make something like the goal.png picture.
So far I have been able to make each geometry randomly move slightly up or down in relation to each other.
I am stuck on how to make each geometry slightly rotate in relation to each other. That way on the top view each geometry will have a slightly random rotation. Right now in the top view each geometry has a uniform rotation.
Thanks!

Hi Hyungsoo,
Thank you so much for making this. I played around with it and I am very impressed. This is very advanced for my level. I'm still a novice to GH.
At first I had some trouble trying to understand what the Pi Factor slider was doing. After testing things out with a nonsymmetric geometry instead of the variable pipe I came to the conclusion that when the Pi Factor slider is tweaked it makes the geometries move on the z axis also. Doesn't the Z-Overlap do the same thing but in a less aggressive way? Is this how you designed it to be?
I understand what the Unit X Factor slider does as well as the Seed sliders, the A slider and the domain sliders.
However, the VPipe is new to me and I am getting a Data Conversion failed from Text to Number error. I opened the GH document and the shapes have pointy ends. How can I make the ends be the same?
Hi Hyungsoo,
This works great now.
What about for applying this to different curves? Like on the attached picture...
Some curves are closed and some curves are open. The orientation of each geometry also matters depending on the curve.
The effect is to simulate different kinds of weaving and stitching found in clothing.
Thanks again. You're very kind for making and sharing these complex scripts.
Best.
Hi Hyungsoo,
Thank you again.
Do you have any tips on working with the geometry after baking it? I am having many issues with boolean operations while trying to create 1 solid piece out of the many arrayed geometries.
Thanks again.
