algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
I'm having difficulties turning lines which aren't in a closed circle into beams (the columns on the open facades of the structure) and also issues with the main frame, when turning these into beams the GGSACREATEBEAM requires a closed curve which creates beams on the base of the structure which I don't want. Any help would be great!
Thanks :)

Hi Liz,
Looks like an interesting model. Please note, if your gh script is set up with associated units of metres, simply ensure the rhino document open has units of metres and you don't have to scale. (There was a problem with past builds of the grasshopper plugin not detecting document changes with units, but this should be fixed in the latest, http://www.geometrygym.com/downloads)
For your columns, the curve elements must have discrete end points. If you dispatch the zero length curves this works better. And for the closed curves (or polylines), explode them into segments and you get the individual members.
Let me know if this doesn't help.
Cheers,
Jon
Hi Jon,
Thanks for the reply. I'm still relatively new to grasshopper and unfamiliar with a lot of the functions. Would it be possible for you to show me the grasshopper for your solution? I tried to follow your instructions but am still not completely following, I've attached screenshots of what I understood it to be. The rhino appears to be working for the main structure but its not baking into gsa :/
Thanks
Liz
