How to create a perpendicular line from arc mid point?

I'm trying to make a definition that can do something like the image attached.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

This seems to work.

Thanks Chris, I'm going to probably reply back again with a question or two about what the definition is doing exactly.  I figured it would get into breaking the curve apart and seperating the arcs.

I'm also going to try to cull out arcs that are below a certain angle, and above a certain radius, if that makes sense.

Thanks again!

dang, questions answered!

Thanks again!

Hey Chris,

Alright, I think I got a good understanding of what is going on.  Thanks.

Taking a few different shapes here and trying it out.  I'm wondering if there is a way to the filtering of the arcs besides using a pattern.  I think that's the only way I'll be able to get it to work on some of my shapes.

Do you know if that is possible?

Thanks again,

ryan

Can you post some examples of shapes it doesn't work on?

Crhis

Here the culling pattern is generated from the exploded curves directly and this should be more versatile than the previous def.

I added the Simplify component to the base curve.

Thanks again Chris,  I'm going to give it a go now!
