Exclude points and lines outside of a set of curves/surface

Hi all,

Attached is a grillage, currently 2d.

I have a number of points and lines that I have generated from data trees.

Can I have some advice about how to exclued the points and lines outside of the  trapezoidal surface shown in the attached screen capture.

I would like to retain all of the points and lines within the attached traezoidal surface.

many thanks

Kenyon

Have fun with this attached

Added some checks more (and an "inactive" option per pts/curves)

Thanks Peter, how many sugars do you have with your coffee?

Always intersting!

The issue that i have is that the grillage requires to be constructued in a certain manner. Skew angles greater that 25degs, require an orthogonal grillage. GH doesnt appear lend itself to this hence my breaking of the trapezium into multiple surfaces.

Your first file made more sense. I'd like to say that i followed your definition, it bamboozled me completely, give me 10 years or so.

In general ...  grid "mode" apart ... I would suggest to first test the work closed shape VS a clockwise check and then calculate the edge angles otherwise results may not be the expected ones. For instance with the "wrong" orientation 25 deg MAY be 360-25 deg etc etc.

PS: Espresso always sugarless.
