algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
I am trying to analyze one structure by Karamba.
There is an error during creating an assemble model.
Could anyone know what this error means?
1. Solution exception:Could not find node at (10.8517942586255/0.326590770102613/1.98714003146394) where point-load number 1 is attached.
I am new to Karamba and try to determine the thickness of the concrete shell based on the analysis. In order not to add a lot of pillars and increase the size of pillars, I am wondering to add the thickness of the concrete shell locally. It means the thickness of the concrete shell is not a constant.
Honestly, I don't know how to do it now. I followed the instruction of the manual to create my first karamba analysis and got the errors mentioned above.
Does anyone know how to determine the thickness of the concrete shell? Is the "cross section analysis" the right function to use for this propose?

Hi,
the error you get means that you have selected support-points which are not part of your elements.
you always have to make sure that the points which you take to define supports are already defined by some elements (beams or shells, resp. lines or meshes).
to incorporate special points into your shell-mesh, you can use karamba's meshBreps component, and feed the points (which lie on your surface to mesh) into the IPts input. They then become integrated into your mesh.
The 'Optimize Cross Sections' Component also can size the thickness of a shell, yess that would be a possible way.

Thanks, Robert.
The error was fixed. However, I don't understand the result.
It seems the region of red color is weaker(?). Does it mean it's better to deform the model to get a new result which shows fewer region with red color ?
Why is the change of color not gradient , like this example (http://ming3d.com/DAAP/ARCH4002sp2015/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Di...)?
hey
you have to take care of the data structure in grasshopper.
flatten the 'IPts' input of the mesh breps component,
flatten all inputs to the assemble model component,
and then check again.
right now you'r assembling multiple models
