algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
I am working with a grasshopper definition with too many surfaces and this makes it impossible to move the sliders in order to see the variations of the components. Is there any way to reduce the quality of the previsualization, or anything to make it work faster?
Thank you,
Martina

Thank you Nik. What are these minitaturized panels you are talking about? I tried with turning everything to wireframe preview but I still can't move the sliders. Any other idea?
I also use panels a lot, the main catch is that they have to be casted from text to the type you want (numbers, integers, domains).
If a panel is connected directly to a component that has a huge list of elements connected to another input, the cast is performed every time the component is solved (once for each element of the longer list, assuming the input is per item). This can be huge performance hit. A quick way around this is to connect the panel to whatever parameter you want to cast to before connecting it to the component.
Hi, post the file and I 98% guarantee to make it 10 times faster.
I recommend you post it soon before I stop procrastinating and summon the willpower to get back to work.
Hi Vicente,
Thank you very much! There is the file, I don't know if it will be easy to understand, it's quite long. The problem is when I try to make the thing taller, the surfaces multiply and the sliders do not work correctly. It would be amazing if you could help with this!
.
Thank you for getting me back to work by procrastinating in cleaning your file. That definition is way, way more complicated that it should be.
This is a screenshot that does the same thing as your first 8 groups in a fraction of the number of components and producing a lot less intermediate geometry (internal expressions are just -x):
Wow Vicente thank you so much for this. I'm not an expert so it will take me some time to go through this, but I'm sure it will help a lot. I would appreciate if you could send me the gh file, is that possible?
Welcome to
