Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello to all friends of grasshoppers.
There are new tools that would grow grapes and ivy on any surface. Grasshopper likes to sing in the ivy. Who can help solve this is not a simple  task? http://www.andynicholas.com/?p=1209   http://www.guruware.at/main/

Good Luck!

Thomas Luft : the original Ivy generator creator

Download the SketchUp Ivy generator

The Ivy generator has been converted for use with Blender and C4D
at the moment the preferable method is to import the geometry and then apply the Ivy generator, on a particular surface of the geometry.

Growing random based tubular geometry that sticks to existing geometry, would be an interesting GH project. Attached is a SketchUp Ivy growing routine without Leaves. I picked 2 points at the btm. of the base geometry, where the line tentacles spread and were converted to branches, when I hit the stop growing button.
