algorithmic modeling for Rhino

i want to offset a polyline and keep the original -mimimum- number of control points (the corner points) in the new offseted curve. I CAN'T! it keep increasing the number of points and if i try to simplify the curve sometimes it decreases the cps and sometimes it increases them! like in the example below

any solutions??

thanks!!!

Try [Offset Loose]. If you only have polylines the result should be the same as regular [Offset].
No it won't. Offset loose moves the vertices a fixed amount, but the actual motion per vertex for a proper offset depends on the angle of the corner.

Oops. I was obviously wrong on that one... My bad.

it works fine with me

It appears to have problem when the angle between the subsequent sections of the pline is >90 degs. If you try it with another pline you will see it.

still works ...
try my previous attached definition
the definition is exactly the same. if in your example you offset the curve in +20 distance you will see it. I have tried many times and the problem stays the same! :(
Change the tolerance input to the Simplify Component.

If the offset distance is not too drastic (segments don't collapse) you could try a manual offset:
