Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hello everyone,

I am trying to revolve a curve around each axis of this circles. The thing is that I don't know how to generate a curve that has a shape as the one I drawn.

I just can create a dome using an arc.

I attached a gh file along with the picture, which hopefully explains better what I what to achieve,

Thanks in advance! :)

heh.. thank you guys, you really helped me out a lot!

I have a final question: Since this is supposed to be my roof structure, and I need to place the pillars supporting it, I want the circle packing thingy to pack the circles around some kind of pre- circles (which are going to be flat spaces- for pillars supporting the structure)

I already found on this forum a script which packs circles around pre-circles (which I can set myself) but the problem is that that script does not pack them as dense as Daniels cluster that I'm using.

And if I try to redefine the surface in the Daniels cluster (to give the surface which has circles that are trimmed)- my rhino just crashes.

Any ASAP help would mean a lot now.

I have included both GH files and the 3d model in rhino.

so this is the model-domes and pillars in perspective (top) and you can see in the rhino top view that my pillars (smallest circles which I made after I baked the geometry) are for now randomly placed between the domes.

But I want to have them in the certain grid, and have the circles of the domes packed around them as dense as possible.
