algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello all,
I am currently working on a small table base that will have a series of connected 3/4" round steel bars. I am using the Proximity3D to connect a series of points, and I wish each of these points to have a maximum of 4 links. Even if I limit the group number to 3, I will still have some points that have four our five connection points.
I think I understand why some points have more that 3 links (even though the group number is set to 3), but I can't figure out how to limit this number to a maximum of 4 links.
Furthermore- the next step I am working out is to create a link at each of the points like the one shown in the attached picture. Any additional advice for how to achieve this would also be very helpful.
Thanks for your help!
Ethan

Thanks Peter - This is spot on
BTW: get the latest (and "greatest") V5 from the second link - the one that I've posted for Laurent (for his adventures VS liquid nodes).
Notify if you encounter issues (still WIP, mind) in order ... er ... to proceed in V6.
Also this discussion... there's a nice def for creating nodes at corners using the exoskeleton plugin.
Another node smoothing example
I'm not sure why the proximity3d is behaving like you say though. You might be able to use something like Sandbox to create line topology and then delete lines connected to nodes with an index greater than x to reduce the number of connected lines.
