Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, I am new to Grasshopper.

I want to know that how the polygon is made using the given centroid ie the centroid of a rectangle, and I need to make the polygon using that centroid?

And also, is it possible to make the base line of the polygon (lets say, Pentagon) to be parallel to CPlane? Or it will work according to the inbuilt script and will make the polygon in its own way?

I am hoping for the reply as early as possible!

Thank You in Advance :)

Hello.

To me the Polygon component is pretty straightforward.

The P input is for the base plane, with the X vector giving the position of the first point.

The R input is for the distance between points and center, and the S input for the number of points.

Is this what you wanted to know ?

Thank you for making a quick reply:)

Actually I want to make a polygon using an existing centroid and also want to make the base edge or line parallel to CPlane?

I have also attached the .gh file in my previous post!

Ok I get it.

Just align your base plan to one of the side of your rectangle.

See below in green what I added to your file to make it work.

Good luck !

yeah now I can work further:)

Thank you soo much for your help. It really saved a lot of time :D

Just one more request, Can u send me this updated .gh file please?

Sure !

Here it is.

Thank you very much FRiou, you made my day :D

hi again, sorry for disturbing again n again.

just need to ask that how to project the elevation onto the CPlane (in 2d)??

The idea would be to cut each of your fins with a plane parallel to it to get the ouline, and then orient this outline on your projection plane.

A little bit like below.

okayy okayy I got it :)

Thank you once again :D
