Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

My impression is that it's possible to access all of grasshopper's built in functions easily with python, but not with c#. Is this correct? In that case I would think python is superior for grasshopper scripting at the moment. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

How about accessing other plugins directly through c# or python, for instance weaverbird, lunchbox, karamba... any preferences here?

This is not correct. Whatever C# has access to, Python has access to and vice versa. Not everything in the Grasshopper SDK is public, so not all functionality is technically available to 3rd party developers, but whatever there is, is available to all.

What do you mean by "accessing other plugins directly"?

I think he is talking about python's node-in-code feature.

And yes, you can access not only grasshopper's native component but any other installed grasshopper plugin too (Lunchbox, Karamba...).

Karamba has Hacker's Guide, with examples on how to access karamba.gha functionalities through both c# and python.

Yes, the node-in-code is exactly what I was after, thank you.

Is there an equivalent of ghpythonlib.components for C#?

Not at the moment.
