algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to array a pentagon along a curve.

Do someone has a suggestion?

Kind regards,

Hoi Maarten, here is my suggestion, you'll need the Anemone plug-in. Edit: works also with other closed polygons! :)

Hoi Pieter,

Thank you for your quick reply. It looks like it is exactly what I mean.

Sometimes the line comes back in the same pentagon (orange). Should that be a problem?

I will tweak around with your gh code. Thank you very much.

You're welcome Maarten, thanks for the challenge.
My definition will fail with the situation you just described. I think you'll have to (somehow) use the intersection parameter at the base curve to get the "along curve"-condition working in these situations. I thought I wouldn't need that here, but it turns out it matters. I just discarded the polygon segment for the next intersection test, so I wouldn't have to check which segment to use next for the mirroring action.
Maybe I'll find some more time to look into it next week. If you find a way to get it working, please report back! Have a nice weekend.

Next weekend I will try something out. Thanks a lot for your comments and if you find a way please let me know.

Have a nice weekend!

Very cool definition, Pieter.
