Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of a good phyllotaxis tutorial? I am trying to create a simple, 2d/flat phyllotaxis pattern in GH bound by a set out radius. I have found only one tutorial so far. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Hi Tash,

here are a couple of definitions. One is a planar resembling the pattern found on sunflowers, and the other one is cylindrical like the pattern found on pineapples and palm trees. It's old work, and very disorganized... you'll have to sort things out.

If you are acquainted with grasshopper you don't really need tutorials. More useful would be to find literature on the laws and relations governing it.

Best

Tash,

Could I get a link to the tutorial on phyllotaxis you mentioned having found?

Thanks!

Hi David!

I am still looking for this, but cannot find it anywhere, I am so sorry. As soon as I find something I will post it here. I did experiment a bit with these codes though, for a while:

hope that's of some help :-)

Hi Tash!

Thank you :-)
