Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Mohammed, thanks for the plugin.

My problem is, that right now all the components can not get data from their input:

The type initializer for 'Wolfram.NETLink.Internal.NativeLink' threw an exception.

I´m working with Mathematica 10.0.2, Rhino 5 SR9, Grasshopper 0.9.0076 and Windows 8.1

I have installed Mathematica correctly, I´ve copied the actual Wolfram.NETLink.dll file from right source C:\Program Files\Wolfram Research\Mathematica\10.0\SystemFiles\Links\NETLink and pasted together with the downloaded mantis.gha file in the components folder. I closed the user account control from the control panel too.

I´m thru all the discussions on this topic, but don´t find the mistake and would really appreciate your help. Maybe i have to download an older version of mathematica?

Looking forward for your response,

best regards Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Mathematica 10 doesn't install the MathLink libraries to \Windows\System32 or System.... So copy the ml64i4.dll from this link

C:\Program Files\Wolfram Research\Mathematica\10.0\SystemFiles\Links\MathLink\DeveloperKit\Windows-x86-64\SystemAdditions\ml64i4.dll

and past it with Mantis.gha and the newest Wolfram.NETLink.dll file as you did...... That worked with windows 7 64bit  and mathematica 10.0.2 and Rhino 5 SR 8 64bit

Moreover, sometimes you have to 1) change the user account control settings in the control panel to Never notify ---- 2) Unblock both the .dll and the .gha by right clicking in Windows File Explorer..

Please let me know if this fixes the issue (specially with windows 8)

Hi Mohammed, also I have a problem with Mantis, and the error message is always the same:

The type initializer for 'Wolfram.NETLink.Internal.NativeLink' threw an exception

I´m working with Mathematica 10.1, Rhino 5 SR9, Grasshopper 0.9.0076 and Windows 7

I I followed your instructions, but in:

C:\Program Files\Wolfram Research\Mathematica\10.0\SystemFiles\Links\MathLink\DeveloperKit\Windows-x86-64\SystemAdditions

I don't have Wolfram.NETLink.dll file.....

How can I do?

Looking forward for your response,

Best regards,

Giulia

Hi Giulia,

for the Wofram.NETLink.dll file this path: C:\Program Files\Wolfram Research\Mathematica\10.1\SystemFiles\Links\NETLink

and for the ml64i4.dll file this one: C:\Program Files\Wolfram Research\Mathematica\10.0\SystemFiles\Links\MathLink\DeveloperKit\Windows-x86-64\SystemAdditions\ml64i4.dll

Good luck, Lisa

Hi Mohammed, thanks for your reply, it works perfectly in Windows 8! It was the missing ml64i4.dll file, now its fixed!! Thanks again a lot and best regards!!!

Thanks a lot Lisa, I didn't know where Wofram.NETLink.dll file was.

Currently in components folder I have: mantis.gha, ml64i4.dll and Wolfram.NETLink.dll and I have installed Mathematica 10.1...

but I have always this error message...The type initializer for 'Wolfram.NETLink.Internal.NativeLink' threw an exception.

Is there something else to do?

Best regards,

Giulia
