algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I downloaded the software and can access it through my Rhino 5 but I can not add an add-ons for grasshopper. I have the latest Rhino and Grasshopper systems. One thing I did notice is that I do not have a grasshopper file in my plug-ins file located in Program Files (x64).

No error. I drag and drop an add-on and nothing happens. When I open up grasshopper I don't get the tab on the grasshopper ribbons.
Ok, which files are you dropping? Do the components appear when you double-click + search for them by name?
Even after restart of rhino grasshopper?
you can double check the correct location for the plugins if go through the grasshopper tab file/special folders/components folder. this will open the folder for the plugin files.
Usually you need to restart rhino and grasshopper after "installing" a plugin. Some plugins dont provide a dedicated tab, rather have their components scattered along the grasshopper tabs.
Hope that helps
cheers

Even after restarting rhino grasshopper and rhino itself. I got it fixed but I had to put the add-on files outside of the location that is typically specified. I put them in User->(Username)-> App DATA-> Roaming-> Grasshopper-> Libraries.
But that is the location specified, so they are in the correct folder, so they work.
Oh. I was taught to out the files in Progam File (x86)-> Rhino 5->plug-ins-> Grasshopper-> components.
.gha files (green ones), along with dlls if there are any, of a plugin go to the above described folder. .ghuser files (yellow ones) go to Root:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\UserObjects.
but through tab file/special folders/... you can not miss the correct path for each.
Dont know why you were taught to put the files in the rhino folder. That folder if i am not mistaken, is mostly for Rhino plugins.(rhp)
Ok, thanks for the clarification.
