algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I am trying to use this definition that I found in

The author says that his definition is not 100% perfect and I was able to test it mysellf with several try outs and it doesnt work good at all.
I have been looking over the net information about it but it looks like there is no much out there.
How could I improve this version of packing?
to make it actually work.
I'm also thinking about the possibility of giving restrictions. such that an area will always be with other area determined to establish connections for example, the dining room with the kitchen.
any help will be much appreciated

ok so here is my attempt. but I encountered an error and the same error that had the previous definition. I tried adding a factor that measures the distance between the midpoint of each area.
the problem is that it reduces to zero in total and it doesnt give PRIORITY TO A SPECIFIC FITNESS.
It should be a way to give priority to overlapping more than the distance between lines.
Please read the following link that explains it better.
you have to add a fitness factor messuring the overlapping.
i used tree parameters for packing:
-minimum area of nested geometry
-minimum overlaping area
-minimum distance between geometry
You can play with the weight of parameters

I'm trying to do something similar but the difference is that i have six rectangles(different dimensions) packed in a defined boundary. I tried to used the definition you posted a while ago, but no luck.
1. Defined boundary.
2. Different dimensions rectangle.
Any suggestions would be appreciate.
