algorithmic modeling for Rhino

How to model an hexacorallia, need an idea to start (debutant)

Hello everybody,

I'm trying to model that form (here a front vue and a plan).

I tried some things but it's ineffective, if you have any idea of the process to get this form I will be very very very grateful.

Thank you very much for your future answer !

1. Get undergraduate degree of engineer quantum and feel yourself divine.

2. Create a new universe and roll the dice.

3. Search the branch of planets and look for this item in the list.

hahah or reply of simple mortal... you can try to make the form with surfaces, make a distribution similar to the holes of the images with points and do Voronoi 3d for intersections on surfaces. Then offset and extrude. But I recommend you the A option.

Thank you for your answer ! Finally I'm drawing the holes with hand and i'll vectorize the drawing.

With this I will create some surfaces avec model the form by stretching the drawing.

Do you know how to get some "boxes" of control points ?

And for the extrusion, what is the command to extrude all the surface (like a dome) to the center ?

Maybe these 2 can provide some inspiration(s) (use rather intersections with some sort of Voronoi3d as Daniel suggested instead of extruding surfaces).

I did that with Rhino but it's too much regular. Do you know can I make something more "natural" ?
