algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Creating structural, cost and time data linked to forms/models

Anyone had any experience with linking information like structural analysis, cost, and/or time to either an excel spreadsheet that can be streamed, or to streamed text output data in the Rhino File?  I tried the excel output, but it just exports as a .CSV file and evidently cannot contain column or row headers to organize data without breaking the link.

I've not tried creating a text or table data element within Rhino with the GH data yet, but maybe that's next.

Hi Mike,

I just uploaded a new version of the plug-in for SpaceGass that should resolve this error. http://www.geometrygym.com/downloads

Can you please let me know if you are using Rhino v4 or v5? Steve and David are looking at the library loading code as this loading error should not be occurring.

Cheers,

Jon

Jon, Using Rhino V4 SR8. - thanks
cheers,
Mike
Jon, I ran the new plug-in, but nothing shows up. I think it's because I have RhinoV4, not V5. Is this a big issue to get it to load in V4? Apologies. Thanks Jon.
Here's what the cmd line returned:

"Command: Grasshopper
Assembly Resolve Required: IGGRhino, Version=1.0.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null
An exception occured during GHA assembly loading:
Path: C:\Program Files\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\Grasshopper\Components\ssiSG.gha
Exception System.IO.FileNotFoundException:
Message: Could not load file or assembly 'IGGRhino, Version=1.0.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

Cheers!

There's a problem at the moment with loading external libraries, I'm discussing it with Steve and David.

There's an easy fix for the time being, start Rhino, Start Grasshopper, run the rhino command GrasshopperDeveloperSettings and then untick COFF loading. If you have 64 bit windows, you might need further instructions to relocate the .gha file to the rhino plug-in folder.

Don't forget you need to run the rhino command sdrZZLicenseRequest or sgZZLicenseRequest to get the components working. Trust me, you're basically there now.

Cheers,

Jon
I have the Coff load un-ticked, I tried the sgZZLicenseRequest cmd in Rhino & get this:

Command: sgZZLicenseRequest
Unknown command: sgZZLicenseRequest

I must be missing something simple . . . ( I hope) what am I missing?
Sorry, I should have made certain what my own command is called, I should have typed

ssiZZLicenseRequestSG

Most users install StructDrawRhino which is the license request starting with sdr.

Let me know if there's still no luck.
Still no Luck Jon:

Review fyi: I'm running Rhino V4 SR8, Grasshopper, current version 0.8.0001, October 22, 2010. Do I need to be in GH Version 7?
Here's what happens:

Command: Grasshopper
Assembly Resolve Required: IGGRhino, Version=1.0.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null
An exception occured during GHA assembly loading:
Path: C:\Program Files\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\Grasshopper\Components\ssiSG.gha
Exception System.IO.FileNotFoundException:
Message: Could not load file or assembly 'IGGRhino, Version=1.0.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Command: SSiLicenseRequestSG
Unknown command: SSiLicenseRequestSG

Thanks for the help, Cheers!
Mike
Rhino v4 SR8 and GH v0.8.0001 is perfect if you downloaded "ssiSpaceGassRhinoInstallv0.2.06 GH0.8.xxxx.msi" which I uploaded today.

ssiZZLicenseRequestSG is the license request command (you omitted the ZZ). It should autocomplete. If you don't, drag and drop the ssiRhinoSG.rhp file in C:\Program Files\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\SSI over Rhino to reload the plugin.

To fix Grashopper, more the Geometry Gym "ssiSG.gha" file from C:\Program Files\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\Grasshopper\Components\ to C:\Program Files\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\SSI Run the rhino command GrasshopperDeveloperSettings command as per COFF loading instruction and add the folder C:\Program Files\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\SSI to the search folders path. Restart.

I really apologize for how difficult this is for you, it's not normally the case. I'm trying to find a way for the installer to do most of these steps but it really needs some changes to Grasshopper (I think) for it to happen.

I'm about to head out for the evening, if you still have no luck, I'd suggest emailing me at jonm@geometrygym.com. If you're comfortable with the idea, I don't mind phoning you either tomorrow or during the week when it suits you and I'll talk you through it. It's a lot more effective and efficient than typing emails or messages.

I'll double check the installer and everything again tomorrow to make sure there is not a fault of mine that is causing the problems, but again talking through this on the phone identifies this quickly.

Best of luck, apologies again,

Jon
