Hi all, i am trying to run the skeleton component for kinekt, but I am getting the following warning: Kinect Status: Undefined, hence I am not able to make the component work.... any ideas?

Kinect is connected when I check the kineck console..

Running the script on latest GH with Rhino 5 (32 bit)

Any help appreciated.

Hey, did you figure out the problem? I'm currently experiencing the same issue.

Are you using the original Kinect (V1 sensor) or the newer V2 sensor?  Is there an LED on the front blinking?

Hi Andy,

Yes its blinking. I believe a V1 sensor. (Its an XBOX Kinect with adapter)

I'm not too sure if this has anything to do with it... but i installed Kinect for Windows SDK - Beta 2 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=27876)

... the microsoft kinect is detected in the device manager, and kinect works for skype

i tried installing the latest Kinect for Windows SDK 2 but if failed to work

i have windows 8.1 using rhino 5 (64 bit) and latest GH

Could you find a solution to this problem? Same issue.

Thanks,

Gozde

Hello,

I am having the same problem.

Installed the Kinect SDK 1.8 yesterday, and I am using Rhino 5 64bit and Kinect for Windows v1 on Windows 7.

Yesterday everything was working fine, and I could track the skeleton without problems, but today when I switched on my computer the skeleton component sends the error "kinect status: undefined".

UPDATE:

If I create a Depth Stream component first, and then switch on the Skeleton tracker, the Kinect is correcty recognized and the tracking works without problems...

I have also found a script, works in the same way as you described with Depth Stream component.

Problem solved:)

Thanks for the solution. Now the skeleton tracker works fine.
