Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Good morning,

I have been trying to generate this origami component using vectors.

I was wondering if anyone can give me a clue why my script is not working as expected. I am intending to create something like this:

Thank you!

Hi Diana,

Thank you to describe the construction process.

There are a lot of error in your definition.

Hi,

3 points are set in Rhino and assigned to the[Point] parameters. [TextTag 3D] component
is used to bake the points A,B,C in Rhino for visual aid.The [Line] tool connects the points creating a triangle.

Lines from points A,B,C to the adjacent curve mid-points are created by setting the [Point on Curve] component to 0.5.

Using the [Curve CCX] component, the intersection between two of the curves creates
the mid point of the triangle.

In order to make the component move, vectors are created from the central point of
the triangle and are connected to the [Move] component in the [Z] direction which is controlled
using the number slider.

The points are connected to create a segment of the component using the [4Point
Surface] component, and here is where it just doesn't work anymore..

any suggestions of how I can fix this?

Step1:

3 points are set in Rhino and assigned to the[Point] parameters. [TextTag 3D] component
is used to bake the points A,B,C in Rhino for visual aid.The [Line] tool connects the points creating a triangle.

Lines from points A,B,C to the adjacent curve mid-points are created by setting the [Point on Curve] component to 0.5.

Step 2:

Using the [Curve CCX] component, the intersection between two of the curves creates
the mid point of the triangle.

Step 3:

In order to make the component move, vectors are created from the central point of
the triangle and are connected to the [Move] component in the [Z] direction which is controlled
using the number slider.

Step 4:

The points are connected to create a segment of the component using the [4Point
Surface] component, and here is where it just doesn't work anymore..

hi Remy,

Is there any way I can solve this with vectors, like I started.

I am required to solve it with vectors..

Thank you!

You student ?

Of course, University of Westminster.

hahaha:) Yes.. trying to learn grasshopper in 2 weeks it's difficult

this is what I am aiming to achieve..

Sorry,
I don't quite understand the form.

Basically this are the diagrams that I want to achieve, in order to make the component look like this origami swan.. and I have to use vectors.

So,

For the step 1, 2 and 3 it's ok.

For the next steps I do not understand well how parameterize.

You must define the construction process (more detailled).

4

In order to make the component move, vectors are created from the central point of the triangle and are connected to the [Move]
component in the [Z] direction which is controlled using the number slider.

5

The points are connected to create a segment of  the component using the [4Point Surface] component.

6

Using the [Mirror] component the surface is mirrored using the [Plane 3Pt]. The surface is connected to the [Geometry] tool.
This geometry is then [Rotate]d and copied around the central point using 2 set integers, creating an overlapping triangular star form. This is then applied as a geometry, forming the component.

This is what I have tried to achieve in my script. I really need to use vectors thou...

Thank you so much for your time:)

Or're in with your definition?
Thank you for sending me with internalized points.

But I could not see why tomorrow.
