algorithmic modeling for Rhino

The upper division component is old, I can use the expression editor there.

The other one is new(er), I can't do it there.

Why?

The old division component probably worked on numbers only. The new one works on a lot of data types. I'm afraid you'll have to use a specific expression component or number parameter in front of the division component.

Thanks for your answer, David!

This actually not a problem, I'll use an extra expression component, just as you said. (I already did)

I was just wondering, why it wasn't possible anymore, so thanks for the explanation. But I'm curios: do you may have an example, on which data types and scenario a division could be useful? I mean, I just can't imagine at the moment.

Division works for numbers, complex numbers, colours, points and vectors (off the top of my head). It probably doesn't work for Domains.

Ok, interesting.

Is there something to keep in mind? If I try it, it just drops an error: "Division is not defined for two points/vectors/colours."

Version is 0.9.0076.

You can divide a vector/point/colour by a number. Not all possible combinations of all allowed data types make sense/are defined.
