algorithmic modeling for Rhino

It's possible link two line in their point of intersection, before running a bending force?

I have this problem and each line (polyline) is "moving" independently by others.

Thanks

Hi Teo,

What do you mean by "link" exactly? You don't want the polylines to react independently, but you do want them to affect each other when interacting?

Would you please post your GH file or an image of the definition? It'll be easier to understand what you're after.

Cheers,

Hi Stephen!

Yes! Exactly this!

I post an example. I would like to connect each line to the others in the points of intersection, so when I run Kangaroo they can interact each other.

Thanks for your time!

Hi Teo,

Here is one way of achieving this.

The important thing to remember is that in Kangaroo everything is based on the points, and for your polylines to be connected they must share some points.

I've achieved this simply by replacing the closest point on each polyline with the intersection point, but many other methods could be used here.

Hope that helps

I GOT IT!!

Perfect solution Daniel! Thank you so much!

Teo

Isn't this the case here?

(one of the many other methods mentioned by Daniel, I guess)

Nice example!I'm new with Kangaroo and this is very usefull for me!

Thank you

Teo

Hey, Teo.

I'm glad to see you were able to figure it out. I decided to peek at your unfinished file and Daniel's finished script. I would have done the same thing as he did in this case.

Since you mentioned you're new to Kangaroo, I'd recommend some background reading. Kangaroo is a Particle System Physics Engine (which is what Daniel was hinting at when he wrote that "everything is based on points").

Here is the link to the manual. You may find it helpful along with the forums and examples on Kangaroo's Grasshopper page.

Thank you Stephen!
