Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I have this rectangular deformed mesh which I took from Maya and I need to make it into a single surface to work on it. However I am finding it hard to select vertices from the mesh to create lines as they seem to be in some different order. I have tried to patch the surface from the vertices but when I evaluate it it is divided in another way.

Is there any way to fix this or get a surface with uv points the same as the mesh vertices?

Thanks

You'll need Kangaroo, which can organise a quad-based mesh into warp/weft lines (I also noticed that your mesh vertices need welding, and Kangaroo also has a nice "combine and clean" component) From there, you can combine and sort interior curves:

Thanks so much. I'll try it out when I get back home from work.

Hi Omar, you can also check this discussion out.

Thanks Nikos,

I was looking at that thread, but nothing had worked. I think it might have been that I had to clean my mesh.

Thanks
