Whoever wrote the display overrides on that object didn't take care to check for possible nulls or handle exceptions. Until they fix the bug Grasshopper will keep catching the rogue exception and switching to ultra-paranoid mode. Basically, ultra paranoid mode exists to allow you to save your file in case subsequent exceptions cause an unstoppable crash.
